Every year students will put on a different show which they will be rehearsing towards throughout the year. Students will attend for every Saturday apart from during school holidays. Each session focuses on increasing confidence, self-esteem, effective communication, team work and improved problem solving. To broaden the understanding of performing arts and to enhance variety to the sessions, we also encourage students to understand:
What is Theatre – Students explore how theatre is the art of telling stories through live acting
Creating an ensemble – Students learn to work together, build trust and involve every member in a performance
Movement and space – Students explore how pantomime and behaviour help to tell a story
Character development – students explore what makes characters unique and how to create compelling characters onstage
Objectives and tactics – students will think about why behind every action
Voice – students will understand the importance of articulation and projection
School Holiday Workshops
Smaller bespoke workshops run during the school holidays and upfront bookings are required for these workshops.
Work with Schools and Community Groups
We offer a number of packages focusing on teaching individuals or small group’s subjects such as History through drama. We pride ourselves on tailoring our packages so that they are bespoke to each student depending on age and year group. Please contact us for further information.
Drama Exams
Polaris Young Performers also enables students should they wish, to undertake drama exams through New Era and LAMDA. Exam preparation and study sessions are on a one to one basis or small group to ensure they are ready and confident for their exam.
